With Egypt hosting the COP27 climate summit this month (6-18 November), nations and businesses look set to reaffirm and strengthen net-zero targets and climate commitments while battling and responding to the cost-of-living crisis. As such, edie’s Net-Zero November is an entire month’s worth of content dedicated to empowering our audience to accelerate the net-zero revolution while delivering a just and green economic rebound.

Now in its fourth year, the Net-Zero November campaign is all about sparking ideas and actions which help to shape net-zero strategies and deliver decarbonisation. Through dedicated live and virtual events, online articles, business guides, podcasts and masterclasses, the month’s content will help businesses on their net-zero journey. From agreeing and setting targets through to scaling-up on-site solutions and collaborating with others – we’ve got it covered.

While previous editions of Net-Zero November have spotlighted the climate movement, this year’s programme takes an even deeper dive into achieving net-zero, covering the practicalities of reducing emissions; the need for business leadership and transparent action plans to decarbonise and the role of diverse voices, stakeholders and expertise to ensure businesses share best practice on the road to net-zero and achieving the aims of the Paris Agreement.

Net-Zero Barometer

edie’s Net-Zero Business Barometer report will detail the results of an in-depth online survey of hundreds of sustainability and energy professionals, conducted by edie earlier this year, providing a progress update on the low-carbon transition at businesses across the UK.

Net-Zero November podcast special

Towards the end of the month, edie’s new podcast relaunch Sustainability Uncovered will be hosting a net-zero special. From interviews with organisations aspiring to reach net-zero to innovative projects and methods to capture the messages at COP27, this special efforts will cover the broad spectrum of net-zero targets and conversations. Throughout the month, the edie editorial team will be speaking to a star-studded array of sustainability experts, from the NGOs and activists driving change, to the in-house sustainability professionals igniting change across key businesses.

From deep dives with companies that have already set action plans to reach net-zero, to thought leadership pieces from those on the ground at COP27, edie will have a weekly selection of exclusive content to read, watch and listen to, in order to help you with your own net-zero transition.

Net-Zero November Action Sessions

Hosted during edie’s special Net-Zero November month of digital content and events, the Net-Zero Action Sessions offer up an afternoon of live, interactive webinar presentations and discussions – all dedicated to giving businesses the tools and knowledge to help, implement and action progress towards net-zero targets.

This online event effectively combines four edie webinars into a single afternoon, with each webinar session taking a particular focus and format. The first session (one hour) will be a Q&A-style net-zero debate; with the following three sessions taking a ‘masterclass’ format, focusing on particular net-zero challenges.

Registrants for this online event will get access to all sessions on the day. The registration page will go live later this week.

COP27 coverage  

Of course, the flagship event taking place in November is COP27 in Egypt. The edie team will be providing day-to-day updates of all the key developments, announcements and negotiations at the crucial climate summit.
