Bioenergy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS)

DEFINITION: A potential greenhouse gas mitigation technology which produces negative carbon dioxide emissions by combining bioenergy use with geologic carbon capture and storage. BECCs has been listed as a potential factor in limiting global warming to below 1.5C.
