Hydro power
DEFINITION: A form of renewable energy used for electricity generation that derives from the force of moving water. Hydropower plants generally use a dam on a river to store water in a reservoir, where the water is released through a turbine to generate electricity. The technology reduces reliance on fossil fuels, increases security of supply and contributes small amount of greenhouse gases (GHG) into the atmosphere.
