Interoperability

DEFINITION:

Interoperability was originally an IT term describing where different information systems, devices or apps connect in a co-ordinated way to access, exchange and use data across organisations without any restrictions. But it has now been co-opted to describe social, political, and organisational factors that impact system-to-system performance.
