The Synthetic Biology Research Centre – Nottingham (SBRC) is one of 6 UKRI (BBSRC and EPSRC) synthetic biology research centres and was established in 2014. SBRC-Nottingham integrates world-leading expertise in microbial gas fermentation, metabolic engineering and synthetic biology to deliver sustainable routes to renewable chemical and fuels towards ‘net zero’ sustainable, circular economies.
The SBRC-Nottingham also works closely with the BBSRC funded NIBB: The Carbon Recycling Network
