For our second episode of the series – recorded from edie’s podcast studio in West Sussex – Luke Nicholls, Matt Mace and Sarah George begin by reflecting on the COP27 climate summit in Sharm El Sheikh, including a live video call with Nicholas Dunlop, co-founder and secretary-general of Climate Parliament – an international network of legislators working to combat climate change.
Then, Sarah takes the podcasting reigns with two interview segments. First, she heads to a climate café – a new concept set up by youth activist organisation Force of Nature to provide safe spaces for people to discuss how they feel about the climate crisis. Sarah sits down in the flagship café set within the Natural History Museum, for a chat with Force of Nature founder Clover Hogan and one of the Museum’s data scientists Adriana De Palma.
Finally, Sarah heads off to Camden Town Brewery to talk hydrogen and net-zero. There, she meets Chris Jackson, chief executive of UK-based green hydrogen firm Protium, and Yleni De Neve, sustainability lead (Europe) at AB InBev. The drinks manufacturer has partnered with Protium to decarbonise its Budweiser brewery in South Wales – the first and largest brewery in the UK to use green hydrogen solutions.
And of course, no episode of the edie podcast would be complete without some fun and games. The episode closes out with the second part of our fiercely competitive “Top of the COPs” quiz – can Matt even up the score following Luke’s victory in episode 1?
